The Law is changing!

It not only effects our business it will affect your business too! It’s not a Law that is just for those big corporations either we’re afraid.

We’ll try and do our best to make this clear to understand, it certainly gave us a sore head working it all out.

GDPR – Whats the Fuss All About?

If you use email marketing, send direct mail or make sales calls this will affect you! The law is changing what you can and cant do.

This all comes into play 25th May 2018 General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

It may be easy to say “I’ll worry about it next year”  The new GDPR law is a complex and extensive law. Heres some advice we’ve been able to put together that will help you comply with the new changes.

It’s easy to think you don’t collect data but if you’re using any tracking tools like Google Analytics on your website you are. This can include anything from individuals IP addresses or a simple contact form.

People have a right to know what personal information you’re storing about them and what data you might have.

If your site doesn’t have one it needs one to comply. It needs to tell people what you’re going to do with the data. We can provide templates for you to edit for your business and remove the parts that aren’t applicable.  We can add a Privacy Policy page,

Our client The Wigley Group held its annual Open and Gala Dinner. The Wigley Group are experts in commercial property needs, risks and construction. Over the last few years they’ve managed to raise a staggering £63,000 for the charity. The charity supports The Parachute Regiment, welfare assistance to serving soldiers and their families. Also help raising money for the Wigley Support Fund, which launched this year. Helping retrain serving and injured soldiers.

This year’s Open and Gala was set to be another star-studded sporting event at Staverton Park De Vere. Which included the football legend Kevin Keegan and sports announcer John McDonald.

Good things happen when people get together! – Event the right way!

Most of us sell to other people. More than ever, we have to create experiences for our customers. To give them what they can’t get online.

Exhibitions are great for finding new customers and expo season starts in September. But why wait ‘til then?

The comfort zone, It’s a beautiful place. But nothing grows there.

If you want to get extraordinary results, you’ve got to do things out of the ordinary. Get out. Meet people!

The exhibition season is upon us. This is how to maximise your results from any exhibit you hold!

Make them come!

First things first. The invites. For an intimate event, mail something fancy. For a VIP look, your invites should match the experience. Opt for Opuleaf gold or silver foil or StarMarque spot gloss highlights to impress. For a larger event, leaflets inserted into the local paper or pushed through letterboxes will be appropriate.

Be a social butterfly. Multiply your message by posting the event on social media. Get people interested and build the buzz.

Standing out in a crowded market place – Zoom Recruitment

Zoom Recruitment is a recruitment agency based in Kent who had approached the team at Oxygen to help them develop a way to stand out from the crowd within the recruitment industry.

We helped zoom by rebranding their current logo and creating a new website for them with added functionality.

The team at Oxygen helped develop and design a new mobile responsive website for Zoom with some unique features that give them a competitive edge in a crowded marketplace. Zoom needed something that would communicate and integrate with their existing systems and therefore communication was key to this process.

Zoom’s old site was unfortunately subject to a malicious hacking. As standard with the development of their new site, we provided them with additional security to ensure this doesn’t happen again. By installing software to run alongside the new site it added another level of security that helped to make the team at Zoom feel more protected against this level of exploitation in the future.

Job Boards:

The larger recruitment sites such as Reed and Monster are cluttered with recruitment agencies and employees pitching jobs to prospects.  This makes it difficult to stand out from the crowd as a recruitment agency due to the sheer amount of jobs being posted. Oxygen helped develop a job board that is personal to the jobs that zoom upload and provided this on their website.

The integrated job board means that clients trying to find a job using the Zoom Recruitment website will only be able to see the jobs that

We were approached by New Leaf Solicitors to make some changes to their website which we created for them previously. They felt like it needed refreshing and tweaking to look up to date with the current industry trends!

Original Site:

Their previous site was working for them at the time. It met the industry standard having fixed width. Utilising the Revolution sliders at the top of the web page to create a carousel of images and text for the user to view or click through to the relevant section! It was a clear and concise site!

7 Design Requests To Make Creatives Cringe!

Working in a design studio we sometimes get asked to produce something that makes our creative mojo die a little inside. The job of a Designer or Developer is to educate the client to ensure that what they are asking for is really going to help achieve the objectives they have in mind!

In this blog, we have pooled together some common misconceptions or errors that customers request that hinders their chances at marketing success.

To avoid facing these issues take note of the following to really get the best quality, whether it be a simple business card or a piece of sales literature with a clear focus on acquiring new customers!

1. Can I Have Music Playing On The landing page?

The issue with having music playing on the landing page is that this can be very distracting to a potential customer. The website viewer may already have music playing, this will instantly make them want to get off your web page as soon as possible! It’ll be a shock to certain users who are unsure of where the music is coming from and may have the volume turned up high! It’s unprofessional and doesn’t provide the right message to the target markets! If you need to display some sort of music on your home page the best method is to not have it ‘autoplay’ simply give the user the ability to control the music!

Cooking with creativity – On The Rocks

 

The new and improved On The Rocks 

This week’s case study is all about Rugby’s favourite restaurant, On The Rocks. We have been working with On The Rocks since they’ve opened, working closely to provide help with all things marketing. This ranges from menu printing to posters and business stationary! We have also helped On The Rocks with seasonal events they have hosted such as Christmas Parties and Mother’s Day meals. Recently we have been working alongside the rebrand to create a new and exciting website that best promotes the restaurant.

The Website:

The Oxygen Graphics team were involved in the design and development of their multiple page, mobile responsive website. The primary function of this is to showcase menus and adapt a new process of taking online bookings. It features a clever video integration on the homepage.  The video integration provides a landing page that really stands out and makes a visual impact for the visitors on the site.

We have also added an online booking system to the website meaning that admin time is reduced for the staff members. Customers are able to place a booking online….

To get some featured imagery for the websites front page we decided to send one of the team out to take large realistic images of the restaurant. This is in-line with current trends in web design and was the best way to capture the rebranding and give the customers a feel for the restaurant environment.

The site also features an e-commerce portal where you can purchase gift vouchers to spend at the restaurant.
