A Time to Reflect on the Year Gone By

2014 blog

Well, 2014, has been a very busy year for us and many other businesses. The economy has grown, and there are positive signs that the tougher days are behind us. Now we’re coming the end of the year it’s a good time to reflect on all the positive things that Oxygen had been involved with. Here are some of our bigger projects this year.

As many of you may remember, we were located at 17 Albert Street, but as our team grew, we started to burst at the seams. Our new offices offer us a lot more space, meeting room facilities and business suites, which we have made available to other marketing professional companies and creative individuals whose business services align with ours.

This year has seen two new members join the Oxygen team. Lewis, a Web Developer, joined in June, after being on awork placement since January. He did so well, we’ve taken him on part time. Phillipa joined us in November as a Digital Marketing Apprentice. She will also be covering the role of our Admin Assistant.

During the Summer Oxygen proudlysupported The Wigley Group Golf Open and GalaDinner in aid of the Afghan Trust at Staverton Park. The day consisted of golfing teams paired up with a sporting celebrity, with an evening full of entertainment and an inspirational speech by Prince Charles. The event raised £14,500 for the charity, which aims on improving the lives of ex-servicemen. Oxygen was proud to be part of this event and looks forward to being involved again in 2015.

total, including Business Newcomer of the Year, Green Company of the Year and the Innovator of the Year. This year Oxygen sponsored the Community Investment Award category and judged this category. In other award news we were nominated and made finalist in two categories – Small Business of the Year and Malcolm for Business Person of the Year at the Rugby Pride awards hosted by Rugby FM.

Oxygen was also the Official Sponsor of the Kenya Children’s Trust Garden Concert Fundraiser. The event was a musical and entertaining evening in Leicester to create funds for a UK charity, which supports education and community development to children in Gataka Slum, Kenya. Oxygen supplied the advertising prints such as leaflets, for the event as well as the printed program.

As a member of the Rugby Round Table, Malcolm was involved in the stunning Rugby fireworks display this year. Here at Oxygen we created all the marketing and collateral for the advertising and the preparation of the event. All of the profits from the event are all donated to local charities and good causes. The event featured the famous Globot as well as fire and stilt performers with Jason Moss from Rugby FM and Silverside band taking the stage.

After all that’s happened this year we’re all ready to recharge our batteries and prepare ourselves for another exciting year ahead. We’re looking forward to working with all of our new and existing customers next year and being involved in even more local charitable events. We wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
